Your child is a STAR!
We offer play-based learning programs for 1 1/2 to 5 year olds. Our programs promote "kindergarten-readiness" in a safe nurturing atmosphere where our children can SHINE.
We prepare our children for future academic success by encouraging a positive idea of school, a healthy self image, and a strong knowledge of academic concepts, in an age-appropriate, fun and enjoyable way.
What We Do
Garfield Co-op has been teaching children in our community for over 30 years. We are a private not-for-profit preschool located inside the former Marshall Elementary School in Livonia. Our unique location allows our children to gain experience in an elementary school setting. Garfield Co-op is state licensed and abides by all OSHA regulations.
Kristen Boehm (Ms. Kristen) earned her teaching degree from Western Michigan University in 2010. She taught first grade for 6 years and then joined our team as Garfield's toddler teacher. The toddler program at Garfield is a perfect way to introduce your child to routines and socializing with other children, all while learning and playing. The children and parents love Ms. Kristen's enthusiasm and love of teaching!!
Mrs. Beqiri, or Mrs. B, is loved by the children for her warmth and enthusiasm and by the parents for her cheerful leadership and her collaborative approach to education. Mrs. B joined Garfield Co-op in 2013. She holds a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Michigan Dearborn with a Z.A. Certification. Mrs. B has also earned a M.A. in ESL/Bilingual Education from the University of Michigan Dearborn.
